Weird.
Two of the men who were arrested Wednesday at Fort Meade where the driver of an SUV attempted to enter the National Security Agency compound have been released, and the third has been handed over to the Howard County Sheriffs Office, the FBI said Thursday.
The driver of the SUV, an NSA police officer and a civilian bystander were injured in the incident, which happened shortly before 7 a.m. at Gate 1 on Canine Road, off Maryland Route 32.
The investigation is ongoing, but we do not see a nexus to terrorism, FBI Baltimore field office spokesman Dave Fitz said in a statement.
Javonte Alhajie Brown, 24, of Washington, was turned over to the Howard County Sheriffs Office Wednesday evening on an active warrant for unpaid child support, spokesman Deputy Christopher Adams said.
No phone number was listed for Browns address. He was expected to be released Thursday afternoon, Adams said.
The FBI did not release the names or ages of the other men, and the agency did not provide any updates on the injured peoples conditions. Fitz said he did not expect to provide a second update Thursday.
