President Trumps longtime lawyer told the New York Times on Tuesday that he personally paid off a porn star who claimed to have had an affair with Mr. Trump.
In a statement to The Times, Michael Cohen said he paid the $130,000 to Stephanie Clifford, best known as Stormy Daniels, without the connivance of Mr. Trump or his entities, and was not compensated after the fact.
Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly, he said in his statement. The payment to Ms. Clifford was lawful, and was not a campaign contribution or a campaign expenditure by anyone.

Big mistake to pay anybody off, because they will just keep coming.
Why would this guy ever make a public statement like this? I thought this story had been put to bed. This is not good...
There was a WaPo article on her just today.
For some reason I cant drag the link to this page.
the title of the WaPo article is “The Trump Accuser Who Won’t go Away”
What about Attorney-client privilege? I don’t think they were allowed to talk about their clients like this, are they?
If he paid her to keep quiet, he’s due for a refund
Youre right.
Thought she denied any of it happened.
Seriously why even bring this sh*t up again..no one cares about this Stormy woman or whatever the heck her name is..now I see why this guy’s name is trending on twitter..why even issue a statement for what purpose?
How much did he get paid to come out with that statement?
I dont care if there were 20 articles about it, this statement is stupid. If the attorney really did what he says he did, its probably misconduct. And he just put it in bright lights.
Trump accuser of what ? Did something illegal happen ? WHAT ?
Mr. Cohen said that he had given a similar statement to the Federal Election Commission in response to a complaint filed by the government watchdog group Common Cause, which contended that the payment, made through a limited liability company that Mr. Cohen established, was an in-kind contribution to the Trump campaign.
/shrug.
I don’t care if he had sex with her, I don’t care if he didn’t have sex with her.
She denies it. Then he says he paid her off. Something definitely smells fishy.
I was only responding to one part of your comment “I thought this story had been put to bed”
I didn’t read the WaPO piece, but it’s possible this guy was responding to that.
Wise? probably not
I dont care either way either. Well, maybe I would give Trump extra points if he did.
