Homosexual activists are shrill and extremely obnoxious, but it isn't homosexuality that's destroying the traditional family - it's the social acceptance of adultery and the legal recognition of no-fault divorce. In spite of this, you almost never hear any conservative politician or preacher campaign rail against no-fault divorce or condemn the normalization of adultery. I think that the reason for this is that homosexuality is a comparatively easy target - only about 2% of the population is homosexual and most of them would never for Republicans anyway. In contrast, there's too much money to be made (by divorcees and lawyers) by no-fault divorces.
I think easy divorce is a big issue, but adultery is far, far less common than fornication, which is almost universal.
