You mean after the tar and feathering.

I’ve been refreshing myself on the proper procedures for doing this. There isn’t a lot of window between tar melting and first degree burns.

So the cases I have read about involved 2 and even 3rd degree. Must of the time the person on the receiving end lost hair. To say it was a life changing event is an understatement. The accounts I have read I don’t think I would wish on anyone. During the revolution and pre- events riding one on a rail was the prevailing technique.
