Yeah or ... get a regular job that pays more than $18.53 an hour. I do feel sorry for people that only get $20K a year but if they are in that situation they should really do something about it.
In Austin, Jane’s gals would all be lesbians with half their hair shaved off and dreaming of Darcy rather than Mr. Darcy.
Bout like Nashville
Resultant of the hipster invasion
That was very good X
Smartly done.
Now you feel like that hipster nightclub developer who notices a month after he’s opened his multi million dollar gamble that at 11 at night the average age in the club is 45 and male
Bam ....more wit
I’m reeling.
So a week’s work pays the rent? Oh. I guess those in Austin only work 40 hour weeks.
Still, that isn’t bad.
Big deal.
People in S. CA, are now spending in just 4 or 5 months in mortgage payments, what your parents spent for the total price of their homes with ONE income, just a few decades back.
San Francisco Redux. A city full of software engineer street people. My son rents a small house in Round Rock. $1800/mo. Its a rentors market. His lease is up in May. No telling what his new lease will cost or if he will even be able to renew it. Lots of people now moving/living as far away as Killeen, Taylor and Elgin while commuting to Austin.
Is that one of the characters from Planet of the Apes???
FACT.
A friend of mine manages a restaurant with light and heavy seasons due to seafood. It’s heavy now with the crawfish in season and they hire up for the rush. One young waiter complained about making “only” $100 for his 6-hour shift. He quit to look for a better gig. Good luck finding a table-waiting job above $16.67/hr, pal.
I am familiar with the Taylor market small builders are throwing houses on every vacant lot in the older part of town as fast as they can.
I know several waitresses in Austin who make $150 to $300 a shift in tips. They aren’t working for their hourly wages but for the tips. You know they aren’t paying taxes on that.
I’m spending nearly 4 months of income just on property tax outside of Austin.
Waitresses in Austin take $300 a shift or $6000.00 a month in tips?
Ya think anyone buys that cow flop? lol...
I’m not talking McDonald’s. Although, the Sonic here wants tips for handing you a burger and fries.
Divide it out. $300 in 8 hours is only $37 an hour. Serve 10 tables in your section per hour comes to $3.75 tip per table.
Come on, you’re telling me waitresses in Texas make $6,000 a month in tips...That’s like 72,000 per year in tips ALONE..
Ya might want to rethink your numbers.
Waitresses all over Texas must be laughing hysterically.
Come on, you’re telling me you couldn’t get $3.75 per table?
So according to you, at $6000.00 per month in waitress tips, plus their hourly wages, waitresses in Texas can make $100,000 per year?
Right?
