I have seen some tough times in my life, I was always grateful when anyone would help me with food. I sure never complained. I have seen people complain about commodities or donated food. I always wonder about the complainers- how bad do they need the help?

We do have a big hurdle in this country, we have many people who think we OWE them something. Illegals think we owe them citizenship, people on food stamps think we owe them junk food and steaks...there is so many that do not see it as help when they are down but see it as something they deserve, and think they deserve only the best.

You are so right. And those of us who have gone through the hard times appreciate what we have now through our own work, even if it was just peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or hotdogs and beans, but we were so happy to have it. Thank goodness times are better for us now. When we were on welfare in my childhood, my mom was so ashamed and she told us “This will NEVER happen to you”! And it didn’t. There is no longer any shame in living off the government.
