All sins compromise in one fashion or another.
And yet we need something even more important than “principles.” We need a living Lord. Without that, we don’t have any power by which to get the “principles” to stick in our lives and societies.
The way America was founded is much more dependent upon Christian principles than the more secular states of the world. We have vigorous talk about rights that don’t make much sense if they are selfish things, but make all the sense in creation if they are means by which we may serve God.
I hear a criticism of conservatives that we long for a past that never existed. I think this is partially correct. What we long for is a future derived from a vision from the past not a denial of it.
