I spent a short time working for then Col Nicholson a few months after the attack. Nice guy to talk to, but he struck me as a politician in uniform. Some argue that is exactly what is needed for an insurgency fight. Maybe. But it never pays to trust a politician, IMHO.
He sniffed the wind and decided what comments would most please Valerie Jarret Obama,Susan Rice,Samantha Power, Hillary Clinton and John Kerry and further his career.
And he got his promotions.
