As you noted, it happens in most of the countries we tend to think of as civilized, including the US, which like Israel has a low and (and dropping) rate compared to Europe. There was that witch from planned parenthood on camera chortling about selling baby parts -- should I fly off the handle and call anti-American canard if someone mentions it? It happens in the US, and I stand by my comment that I wouldn't be surprised if it happens in Israel as well.
On a minor, I was referring to Israel, not Jews. And the Syrian in question may well be anti-Israel, but as Arabs are Semitic, I don't know if his claims, true or otherwise, would quite qualify as anti-Semitic. Frankly, the term is tossed around far too lightly theae days.
