Oddly enough, it was the communist faction that won wars in ‘48 and ‘67. Something has happened to their psyche since then. They do not do well as the party in opposition, but letting them back in power is not worth the grief.

Unlike Christianity and Judaism, they have no firm core at their center. They can be manipulated, molded, to whatever somebody with the money and power wants them to be. Not having a philosophical focus built on bedrock, they have a foundation built on sand. Anybody who knows how can undermine their resolve and then exploit the cracks to tear down whatever they thought they’d built. Each new generation of communist is a fresh pallet.
Stalin at first supported the formation of the state of Israel. That might explain why leftists fought the Arabs in the war of independence.
