Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., the ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said the criminal referral is "not based on any allegation" that Christopher Steele, the author of the infamous Trump-Russia dossier, lied to FBI investigators about former Trump aide Carter Page, or what was included in the dossier.
Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., slammed the criminal referral of Christopher Steele by Sens. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., saying it has numerous “flaws” and “omits key facts.”
In a five-page analysis released Friday, Feinstein says the criminal referral is “not based on any allegation” that Steele, the author of the infamous Trump-Russia dossier, lied to FBI investigators about former Trump aide Carter Page, or what was included in the dossier.
“[N]either provide any evidence that any of the information in Steele’s dossier is wrong. Instead, the referral is limited to a single baseless allegation: that Steele lied about his contacts with the press,” the analysis says.
This week Grassley made public more details from the Jan. 4 unclassified criminal referral of Steele. The referral asks the Department of Justice to investigate whether Steele lied to FBI investigators about his communications with the press.
The referral, which was first released in heavily redacted form on Monday, appears to confirm some level of coordination between the extended Clinton circle and the Obama administration in the effort to seek damaging information about then-presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The less-redacted referral fails to provide further illumination on the memo mentioned in the dossier obtained by BuzzFeed, which laid out how Steele allegedly received information from "a foreign sub-source who is in touch with [redacted], a contact of [redacted], a friend of the Clintons, who passed it to [redacted]" — redactions that appeared in the first issuance of the referral.
The unredacted referral does discuss the controversial Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court applications seeking permission for the government to spy on Page.
Feinstein’s analysis claims the Grassley-Graham referral omits “key facts,” because they failed to modify the referral “before and after” the Justice Department provided the committee with documents about its interactions with Steele. This includes an Oct. 19, 2016, report that Steele received information from a “friend of the Clintons.” According to Feinstein, 14 of the 17 memos within the Steele dossier were created by him before the Oct. 19. report.
Feinstein’s analysis concludes that the criminal referral “fails to make a case” that Steele actually lied o the FBI.
“The criminal referral contains no new information. All the information in the criminal referral was already available to the FBI and the Department of Justice,” the analysis concludes. “In fact, the referral relies on publicly available information and information that was provided to Congress from DOJ and the FBI.”
In a statement accompanying the analysis, Feinstein said the Grassley-Graham referral has goals that include “undermining the FBI and Special Counsel [Robert] Mueller’s investigation, attacking Christopher Steele and deflecting attention from collusion and obstruction of justice investigations.
“Not a single revelation in the Steele dossier has been refuted. Unfortunately, the claims in the criminal referral rely on classified information, so it’s difficult to fully repudiate them here. However, as much as possible using unclassified information, the following points lay out the flaws in the criminal referral,” she said.
The Justice Department has not yet publicly commented on the Grassley-Graham referral.

Give me a scenario in which Clinton becomes president at this time.
On page 17, Steele alleges that Trump's lawyer Cohen had a secret meeting in Prague with Kremlin officials. Cohen has never been to Prague.
More importantly, Feinstein's ridiculous charge that not a single revelation in the Steele dossier has been refuted misses the point despite being wrong. What revelations have been verified and proven? Just the fact that Carter Page traveled to Moscow.
Someone send Grandma Feinstein a memo; The dossier was all fabricated.

They are unverified allegations, deceitfully claimed as factual intelligence to a FISA judge, when they are from a highly prejudicial source whose sponsors have a huge financial stake in the public perception that they are real.

Apparently the old fossil has given up gungrabbing and found a new hobby.
Steele was lying to the FBI on at least two counts: his contacts with the press and the source of his funding, and very possibly the identities of his sources, since he probably neglected to inform the FBI about information he received from Clinton cronies Blumenthal and Schearer.
If a source is found to be lying in any capacity, their entire credibility is thrown into serious question.
Further, at least one major allegation in the Steele dossier has been proven to be an utter falsehood. Steele claims that Trump attorney Michael Cohen traveled to Prague on a specific date to meet with Russian officials. Cohen's passport shows that he has never traveled to Prague, much less did he do so on the specific dates named.
So Fienswine is saying that nothing in the so called “dossier” has been disproved.
Hey, Fienswine, prove that you haven’t been a lifelong devotee of human sacrifice, and that you haven’t been cannibalizing the corpses of the children you sacrificed to satan.

THERE'S GOLD IN THEM THAR HILLS---Sponsored by Senator Diane Feinstein, the Desert Wilderness Protection Act and its companion bill known as the California Desert Protection Act created three new national parks and seventy- four new wilderness areas in the desert of California that total 8 million acres (an area the size of Maryland).
This closes acreage to development, forces out private owners within the protected area and closes mines and ranches. It also expands the Death Valley and Joshua Tree national monuments and upgrades them to national parks.
It seems that the real motivation for passage of this bill lies with the special interest groups that would benefit monetarily. Through a complex series of land exchanges, Catellus Corporation (Owned by none other than Richard Blum DiFI Hubby), a subsidiary of Santa Fe Pacific, will receive land that contains some of the richest gold deposits in the world.
I think the whole point of Grassley’s referral of Steele lying is to expose the fact that the FBI lied. She doesn’t realize that.

There is no independent source of any evidence to either prove or disprove any of the many assertions in the Steele “dossier”, beyond the very low probability that Donald J. Trump, a noted germophobe, would have engaged in ANY of the antics attributed to his presence in a Russian hotel room.
There are no facts, only imaginary depictions.
Donatien Alphonse François, Marquis de Sade, was so much better writer of this sort of fiction than is Christopher Steele. Probably less radical to boot, too.

It’s the democrats loyalty to their ideology and their loyalty to their queen Hillary that feeds the evil that she survives on. It would be a very cold day for her to ever make it to the WH but her narcissistic hubris doesn’t allow her to project nor to ever accept defeat.
Not that he lied about his contacts with the press. That he lied to the FBI about his contacts with the press.
