This was a bow to “bipartisanship”, and while it appears to be a sellout, it is a temporary trade and a bet being made by the Republicans, that they may gain enough of a majority to make the Senate filibuster-proof, and maintain or even increase their holdings in the House of Representatives.

Even at that, the combined forces of conservatives and libertarians will still be dealing from a minority position. You go into battle with the army you have, not the army you want.

There are many conservatives in this country who feel abandoned by the Republican Party. The first thing we do every week is pay our bills. Our tax dollars are not being managed wisely, as spending is out of control. Who is going to pay for this reckless spending? Spending more and more and more is only going to cause more inflation hurting generations to come. We are leaving a mess for our children and their children.

Good grief. It’s not like the gop kept obama in check on spending. This is the GOP.

Schumer has gone bonkers on the Tide Pod rage. About time he told the stupid college kids to stop being stupid...instead of practically outlawing them. And they do NOT look like candy.

What about marijuana brownies, candy etc. Why no outrage on these little "Pods". Why? Cuz we're gonna go for rec marijuana soon....and NYS is going to make a sh** load of money on the plan.

“What else explains the irrational and liberal policies that Republicans pushed in the latest budget agreement?”

The voters.

The Republican Party is in a bad position.

To maintain nominal control of power temporarily, Republicans in Congress are giving the Democrats everything they want and digging a bigger hole for Democrats to bury them in.

I believe McConnell’s hope is to gain control of the Supreme Court, but the Democrats could easily add a few justices as FDR proposed in 1937.

The temporary tax cuts Trump got could easily be swallowed up by a Democratic Congress imposed wealth tax.

“Republican leaders don’t care about spending and debt”

They care about being called Congressman or Senator.

“future generations”

They’ll have worry about doing hard work, not the debt.

Grandma and Grandpa getting 1% interest in the face of ~5% inflation are paying for the debt creating policies through purchasing power eroding interest rates.

The Mexicans will flee southward with their employers’ construction equipment.

The Chinese will refuse to send Americans ships full of goodies in exchange for electronically created dollars.

Well, they keep telling us “if only we had more Republicans in office, we would do...”

Sorry, I’m not buying. We conservatives are Charlie Brown and the Republicans in office are Lucy with the football. We promise we won’t pull the football away this time!

The leadership of the Republican Party is moribund.

That’s OK, the (R)N(C) knee-pad brigade will swarm the board in a few short months promising to ‘hold their feet to the fire’ if we ONLY elect a *few* more lesser-of-2...

“Hey, they put a judge on the SCOTUS right?” Oh, hasn’t tipped any ‘scales’ (excuse the pun), eh?

“Well, there was the tax cuts!” ‘Revenue neutral’; requires the benevolence of the EMPLOYER to put more $$ into the paycheck.

“We’ve rolled back YUGE, mountains of regs/rules/etc.” Right, that was Trump. Those agencies still exist, to grow and thrive.

“How ‘bout....*hmmm*, give me a minute. I’m sure I can come up with, maybe, 5. Let me sleep on it.” /s
