It’s beyond me how you’d do money-laundering with a newspaper or magazine service.

Easy, pretend to sell papers. Just print a few, put them in the vending machines.

At a dollar a copy? You’d have to go and pretend that you have five-million readers, when the reality is maybe only a quarter million people actually read it. The printing side of this gimmick would fall apart in a few months as folks add up the numbers.

Now, if you were inventing fake clicks on the digital service, I could see that being done. But you’d have to have fake advertisers behind that gimmick, with some kind of fake product (property in Costa Rica for sale as an example). All of this would lead the journalists to eventually question who they work for, and the value of their work (literally worthless).
