Amish don’t commit murder.

That is why a cruel public execution is necessary. It would be a DISINCENTIVE for others.

“Every extra day these monsters draw breath is a win for them and a loss for society.”
I don’t disagree, but I wonder just what kind of a life it is to be under a sentence of death!

some murderers suffer with their actions. Some find solace in religion. Some are psychopaths and justify their actions. Different for different people.

Our current system of multiple appeals, challenges to the execution techniques extends their lives and may in fact be cruel and usual punishment in and of itself.

“Our current system of multiple appeals, challenges to the execution techniques extends their lives and may in fact be cruel and usual punishment in and of itself.”

That was where I was going with my comment. But then I view things through the eyes of someone who has normal ethics and morality, so I guess it would be impossible to see incarceration through the eye of a sociopath. I do know that being cooped of for the rest of my life would be unbearable.

I worked in corrections for 28 years. I can say some get used to it. Humans are very adaptable and survivors. You are normal AFAIK so it seems it would be unbearable.

He was convicted illegally?

Anything not to use the term “illegal immigrant”.

How quickly do we want to forget inconvenient parts of the constitution. Can not meet your desideratum.

I’m not 100% sure but being on death row is a lot different that being in gen pop with everyone else even if they are in for life. Death row inmates get limited yard time by their selves and not much contact with anyone other than their attorney, jailers, and maybe an inmate next door they can’t see directly.

This may all be different now, I don’t know, but as you said; death row is a hard row to hoe. It’s a lonely existence; not a life at all. I think this is by design.

We should have destroyed Liberalism when we had a chance. I hate to be cynical, but this country is very much on life support. The rot will never un-rot. It just rots.

This is a great example why the death penalty is a moral, life preserving method of punishment completely consistent with our founding, Christian values. Pro death penalty is pro life, pro liberty.

“I don’t disagree, but I wonder just what kind of a life it is to be under a sentence of death!”

Whatever life it is it is better than their victims last minutes or hours.
Their victims had no hope and I expect most knew it.
The death row inmates have some sliver of hope, no matter how small.

The euroweenies routinely refuse to extradite criminals to the US unless we agree to take the death penalty off the table.
One of the reasons given is the long wait for execution. They consider a 6 year wait inhumane, cruel and unusual.
If’n the euroweenies er agin it, I’m fer it!

You are free to do anything you want. What punishment could they use to stop you ? Let's say you killed another prisoner, or a guard. What are they going to do, sentence you to death ?
