It was clearly a set-up question by Establishment hack Hugh Hewitt. I used to listen to Hewitt’s show to hear what the GOPe was thinking.
Hewitt was adamantly against Trump until Trump began giving him weekly interviews- at that point Hewitt began sucking up to Trump because of the attention it brought to his show- but any long time Hewitt watcher knew how phony he is and that at some point he would try to stab Trump in the back. And this was his first attempt.

BTW, there was a discussion here that Hugh Hewitt now lives in California, not Boston as I thought. But since he regularly subs for Mark Simone here in NYC, he insists he lives in Boston. I’ll bet he’s lying.
