My grandfather, who served in the Spanish-American War and World War I, used to carry the flag in parades until they wouldn’t let him enlist in World War II. And I remember when the last Confederate soldier marched in a parade, and the papers blared that the Confederates had won because the Yankees had all died first. Parades were great things. There WERE bands, and military everywhere and everyone cheered for them and for the flag.
Let the Dems not cheer and we go toward November with a solid middle of the country cheering for Republicans and blowing raspberries at Democrats. I say go for it! Brilliant, Mr. Trump. Absolutely brilliant.
Besides, I always feel calmer when I know our president is surrounded by our military.
God bless our service personnel and their families.
