Well now you’re helping with my original point which was countered with “W is not a native Texan”. Which is what Texans will do

Point is, people should not be surprised when we get closer to building the wall when some powerful or numerous Texans are found to be the ones blocking it

The true answer to your question is you don’t have to be a
native Texan to become governor.

To serve as Governor of Texas, a person must be at least
thirty years old, a United States citizen, and a resident of
Texas for at least five years preceding his or her election.
These are the only legal requirements to hold the office.
