President Trump tweets criticising the NHS:
The Democrats are pushing for Universal HealthCare while thousands of people are marching in the UK because their U system is going broke and not working. Dems want to greatly raise taxes for really bad and non-personal medical care. No thanks!
Jeremy Hunt hits back:
I may disagree with claims made on that march but not ONE of them wants to live in a system where 28m people have no cover. NHS may have challenges but Im proud to be from the country that invented universal coverage - where all get care no matter the size of their bank balance
Worth noting that Tory MPs and advisers are now openly talking about a Royal Commission on the future of the NHS
Yes Mr Hunt, but don’t you think it was incredibly naive for people to be promised credit cards for unlimited gourmet dining and now with care rationing and refusing treatments to certain persons altogether that those are those chickens coming home to roost?
And trust me....NOT ALL GET CARE. People are denied care all the time. Just go watchThe Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Medical Tourism was created to deal with no care or care that makes you wait months for a needed operation.
Here’s the operative word: “Cover” or “Coverage”
Having coverage does not mean care will be received.
One can be ‘covered’ 100% and never receive the ‘care’ needed.
Years ago here in Seattle, a group of Canadians was interviewed as to why they were seeking medical treatment in Seattle.
All of them said they could not wait, they were on a waiting list in Canada.
When asked if universal care was worth it, they said yes. Asked further why was it worth it if they couldn’t get the care they needed in Canada.
They answered that “it feels good to have coverage”.
COVERAGE WITHOUT CARE. WOW! AMAZING.
Not related, but I found interesting this story last week about Canadian couple that got fluke worms while vacationing at Punta Cana
They had to get medicine in Detroit, but Health Canada denied their claim for the specialized medicine needed.
> “not ONE of them wants to live in a system where 28m people have no cover.”
Let’s point out further, that 28m Americans may not have “coverage”, but by law, they must be provided “care”.
> “Im proud to be from the country that invented universal coverage - where all get care no matter the size of their bank balance”
No doubt there is some level of ‘care’ in the UK. It’s a dismal level though, a level that would never be tolerated in the USA.
Except that Obamcare will very likely bankrupt you and for crappy health insurance, too boot. But I guess that the solution is a complete government take over of our health insurance industry and then everything will be just peachy.
Well, Mr Hunt, STAY OUT OF MY COUNTRY, THEN!
If Canadian and England health systemsare are so great. Let’s make it illegal for them to come to America for treatment.
So, if my healthcare is free and the healthcare I need is unavailable am I any better off than one who has no insurance?
