I’m not sure you got my point. Patents are monopolies. It doesn’t matter how much the drug treatments cost the drug companies. They will still charge whatever the market will bear. That’s how monopolies work. It’s the whole point of having one.
Patents run out. I am on a couple of them. Without patents to protect the work product, innovation would die. Patents are not monopolies by definition.
