Air bag deployment doesn’t mean a vehicle is automatically totaled (it’s typically based on the total cost of repairs) but their high replacement cost will get it to there a lot quicker.

I totaled my car and the air bags didn’t go off. I didn’t even hit the truck I hit his trailer hitch. Which took out my electrical and computer system.

There had been a 3 car accident on the other side of the road so my side was going about 5-10 mile/hr. A couple seconds later to guy behind me gets T-boned. The cops were going nuts.
