On second thought, maybe Trump could be the “Duke of Earl” sang by Gene Chandler.

and all of that was not enough to secure a warrant from Judge #1.
They went home, created a Dossier, salted in said Dossier, and shopped that warrant application to Judge #2

A perfect fit!

Another Marvin Gaye song is “Mercy Mercy Me. How about “Wasted Days and Wasted Nights” applied to the Russian conspiracy rabbit hole?

I could see Trump walking out to the State of the Union while they played Duke of Earl. Get the footage, and shut the sound off and play the song Duke of Earl. Nothing can stop the Duke of Earl? I’m the Duke of Earl.

-- What I meant was an increase of 3% in the distrust of the media. If that Oct. 2017 poll is anywhere near the truth, I hope that FISAgate will help raise the distrust %. --

It will. Regardless, I see this as a one-way split. The media is not going to gain any adherents, it is only going to lose them.

Just guessing here.

Stroke writes up a report with the FBI “facts”
His sidekick, Page, reviews the fake report and applies the “legal” approval on behalf of the DOJ.

and away we go....

Using those songs might be a way to get through a message.
I gotta get a message to you- Bee Gees.

Another great one. Lara Trump needs to get on this, procuring copyright permissions, etc. She is majorly involved in the re-election campaign now.

Jessica Tarlov stated on Fox this morning that the FISA judges were all republican appointed

Maybe she meant that John Roberts appointed the judges to the FISA court, who knows.

-- What happens if surveillance results are cherry picked, a distorted picture is created and presented to the Judge, to obtain a FISA extension/renewal? --

Generally, nothing other than the warrant issues and surveillance continues.

The FISA court is cover. The surveillance is going on anyway, and probably goes on even when the warrants are rejected. The point of the system is to fool the public. The whole system is shrouded in secrecy, other than the points where a criminal prosecution depends on material obtained under a FISA warrant. Those instances are few and far between. I can't think of a single criminal prosecution that involved a FISA warrant, although maybe there is are terrorism or drug cases that fall into that pattern.

See On the Admissibility of FISA-Derived Evidence in Criminal Prosecutions - 2010

See too The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court Of Review Creates A Potential End Run Around Traditional Fourth Amendment Protections - 2002

That second link is good for background understanding of FISA, as well as how it came to be.

In a criminal case, if the warrant is obtained under false pretext, the evidence is tossed, and the aggrieved person can sue for deprivation of civil rights. Tossing evidence is only "valuable" to a criminal defendant, and the FISA law has a statutory defense as long as a warrant exists, regardless of any false pretext.

Kabar,
I remember reading somewhere that Carter Page was approached by a Russian Agent, posing as a businessman.
He notified the FBI and they used him as an undercover operative in a sting operation.

His FISA could be based on that. Then they could have, then used that to monitor Trump and created the Dossier to cover their tracks with a fictitious issued FISA.

Just a thought

re :I must confess I am mystified about my rep Trey Gowdy’s leaving.

He wants a federal judgeship. I suspect that’s why he’s playing nice on his way out. To get there he’ll have to clear the confirmation process, and some of these people he’s stroking have friends in high places who could help or hinder that.

You’re being generous. She’s just repeating the official Dem bundle of SQUIRREL. And God bless her, she sure tries to squeeze in 10 hours of CNN into the few minutes she gets.

Great idea! The Clintons used “Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow” -Fleetwood Mac. That song “Simply the Best” by Tina Turner is a good song or “He’s a Magic Man” by Heart. “Fools Rush in” for the media participation without understanding the issue.

They all need copyright approval. I see even You Tube will not air footage from Joe Blow with songs, not having some approval. Most will not grant permission, because they do not want other liberals to think they are helping conservatives. On second thought, they probably would if someone pays them enough money. Songs are often used for promoting a certain advertisement. My pillow could use Tears on Pillow, but not sure it would work!
