It’s bad but Americans are too brain dead to see their country is slipping right through their fingers. The deep state and the MSM is downplaying it but illegally spying on a presidential candidate is a a wholesale undermining of the American election system. The Watergate burglars only attempted to do this but these people succeeded.
I agree with you about the lack of discernment by the masses of the American people. Stalin or Khrushchev may have understood the American people better than they do themselves.
