“How much was he paid?”
Whenever Fusion is discussed in the news stories they seem to leave out the fact that, as I understand it, Fusion conducted the research and then paid reporters to publish their results no matter how fraudulent they were. And they almost got the FBI do do the same until the FBI found out Steele had a big mouth (based on the very story discussed in the post).
Fusion GPS, most likely Simpson who was at the meeting with Steele and Isikoff, instructed Steele to market the spy yarn, aka dossier, to news outlets, Sept. 16-Oct. 16. Steele did so. When Mother Jones mag published their interview in the Nov 16 issue, the FBI “learned” that Steele was revealing he was the source of the spy yarn. The FBI fired Steele but continued to work with him via FBI Agent Bruce Ohr and Ohr’s Russia specialist wife spy yarn writer who happened to work for....Fusion GPS! Not to leave out Mary Jacoby, who assisted in putting together the spy yarn. Isn’t she the wife of Simpson/Fusion GPS?
