Too difficult to be sure of. I know all about it. If the child doesn’t want you to know it is hard to figure it out. I believe only total benign supervision works.

Trying to keep things open enough with a son or daughter that he or she isn’t embarrassed to tell you if something abnormal happened is the wisest tack.

I know when a certain problem happened when I was young, I didn’t dare tell my parents. I wrote to an advice columnist. I don’t know what happened to the letter but I never heard back.
