Problem is that these transplants bring their failed policies and voting trends with them, apparently not realizing why they had to leave in the first place.
have turned Nashville into a “blue island” in a red state

That’s not unusual. You have the so called “blue islands’ in Texas.

I have not voted dem once since moving to TX from Kali (the land of my birth). Of course, I did not vote dem when I lived in Kali either. I think one of the reasons that places like Kali and NY have gotten more blue over the years is that those in the middle, trying to achieve (or maintain) their personal economic prosperity have gone to areas where they could ahead. I don’t think that dynamic will be altered. If anything, dems will look to relocate into places that are cheaper, sure, but have some of “their kind of people”. Idaho, Colorado, Ohio, or Louisiana are better bets for influxes of dems.
“There may actually be something to this. Transplants from $h!t-hole states like CA and IL have turned Nashville into a “blue island” in a red state.”
Tell me about it. I live in northern Virginia, and I’m surrounded by “Hate Has No Home Here” signs.
