Daniel Ellsberg was on Coast 2 Coast last night. I get bad vibes from him. Could tell he hates Trump, probably all Republicans although he claimed he served under several presidents, both parties. A lot was about nuclear arms, how we wouldn't have had to bomb Japan and the dangers of nukes. He didn't have kind words for Kim Jong I but I got the impression that we were to absorb an attack on American cities rather than a pre-emptive strike.
Now maybe I'd better read the article.
A reminder regarding The Pentagon Papers. It was the Pentagon's assessment of the Vietnam war done during the Johnson years (I'm guessing late in his term). It pointed out a lot of failures.
Nixon - being a patriot, sought to keep these top secret files secret, as there release would be harmful to the war effort, and harmful to America. I'm pretty certain that if it it had been the other way around (Dem president and Republican prior), the Dem would have used the Papers as political ammo against the prior administration.
