Congressional Republicans are seeking to make the case that the FBI’s investigation into President Trump’s campaign and possible collusion with Russia was based on flawed or politically tainted evidence connected to partisans loyal to Hillary Clinton.
The House Intelligence Committee memo spearheaded by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) that is the talk of Washington will be at the center of the argument. The release of that four-age memo is expected as early as Friday.
Another document — and eight-page criminal referral filed with the Justice Department by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) — is also a part of the GOP case.

Rumor control has it that he has been under lock and key at The Hill.
What’s the 8-pager about?
Grassley and Graham are referring Steele to the FBI for prosecution. They submit that they have proof he lied to the FBI about the dossier, that he told the FBI it was all verified when he knew it wasn’t.
But it’s a trap for the FBI because the FBI knows Steele never verified the dossier and they know just as well as Steele does that’s it a bunch of lies.
Should be interesting to see how this shakes out. Steele will say “I didn’t lie. I never said this crap was verified. I told the FBI it was a political hit job from the get go. It’s not my fault they used what the knew was defective intelligence to secure a FISA order to wiretap the Trump campaign.”
There's a bigger case than that to be made: the Obama administration was misusing the intelligence community for years on a scale that dwarfs Watergate.

Also Steele told the FBI he wasn’t in contact with the media, when in fact he was trying to protect peddle it to anyone who would pay.
