“The FBI takes seriously its obligations to the FISA Court and its compliance with procedures overseen by career professionals in the Department of Justice and the FBI,” the bureau said in its statement.”

This statement is not coming form the Bureau. If it was then it would be a public statement. It would be official. This is coming from one or two players within the FBI. The Hill is twisting reality in that way. And so the fact that this entire story is just another Hit piece, becomes quite obvious.

Not just "The Hill." WaPo is running with this, USA Toady, TheWeek, CBS, The Daily Beast, Politico, LA Times.

All of them are presenting the same two paragraph release as authentic from the FBI and significant.

As I posted above, "the ball is in Wray's court." Rosentein once issued a press release that torpedoed, IIRC, a NYT narrative. That release was not expressly specific, but close enough to tell exactly what story he was disputing.

In this case, the news is stating as fact that the two page statement came from the FBI. If that is false, then Wray needs to make a direct and official statement. Just repeat verbatim the two paragraphs, and assert it is not FBI position.
