Former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar is scheduled to appear in a Michigan courtroom on Wednesday for a second sentencing hearing, after already being sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison for abusing young female gymnasts who were entrusted to his care.
Dozens of victims are expected to appear in court, as they did in the previous hearing, to tell a judge how Nassar abused them as young athletes under the guise of medical treatment. The hearing is expected to last several days.
More than 150 victims offered searing accounts of his sexual assaults in another courtroom in Lansing, Michigan.
As part of his agreement with state prosecutors, Nassar, 54, pleaded guilty last fall to two sets of charges in different counties and must be sentenced separately for each set.

Let nature take its course.
He’s 55. He could spend decades in prison.
That scenario is proof this country is soft and lacks a spine.... we expect a population of convicts to met out justice? Kinda sick a jury of free citizens refuses to hang this criminal and transfers that responsibility to prisoners that may or may not remove this predator from the planet. Talk and cruel and unusual punishment for a crime.... rant off
Only one point on this. The jury doesn't have the ability to mete out what is truly just for this scum's crimes in as much as the statute doesn't permit it.
True. Then the criminal justice system is a sad reflection of our moral compass. We have codified being cowards and ethically “nice” while actually violating, the cruel and unusual punishment for a crime mandate. This predator will live on for years... and no one else will be charged with enabling this freak...
If they are thinking of putting him in the same cell as Hillary for punishment, they might be getting ahead of themselves...by a year or two anyway.
I agree. If we as a country want to sentence people to anal rape or to death, we should have the gumption to do it in open court.
Not defending the guy by any means but this all seems terribly out of balance. I am guilty as the rest but half of this board does not guilty when the cute teacher has sex with several High School students. In this day an age a teacher can have sex with the entire football team AND the basketball team and get community service. Consider: the guys who did the Knoxville torture/murders will get out of prison some day.
I agree that there is a great deal that is disordered and inconsistent in what we call our “justice” system. I think one reason people’s comments can get so extreme is because the Knoxville killers, and others like them, will someday be released.
I recently re read Starship Troopers for fun. We need to bring back flogging. I am not kidding. No need to have prisons. It is over in 30 minutes and everybody can go back to work. No expense of guards, food, clothing, etc. Very low recidivism. A lot to recommend it.
Singapore has floggings.
Anyone know if Nassau is a Muslim?
I remember the fury libtards had about the guy they caned some years back. Caning isnt the same, IMHO. I doubt they do caning for more serious crimes. I am talking actuall floggings as in few survive 40 lashes. Think of the time and money it would save on things like background checks. If you are thinking of hiring someone for a position of responsibility all you would have to ask is take off your shirt.
Well that would sure cure him of ever touching another woman.
To what crime has he pled guilty, of what crime has he been convicted, that would authorize a jury of free citizens to impose a death sentence on him?
You have the power to reduce by one the number of morons who pronounce "not guilty by reason of cuteness".
Exercise it, or STFU.
Flogging? Yes. But also the pillory.
Some crimes cry out for the perp to be pilloried in the public square, where passers by can pelt the perp with rocks and garbage.
Good points.
How could whipping someone kill them?
