If the government builds it, it will own it.

It can go ahead and build its OWN if it wants, but the private sector internet has done quite nicely on it’s own.

What about DARPA’s support for the web? Those were government contracts to industry to innovate.

If only govt paid and built it, I couldn’t care less.

By the time they got 10% done, technology would have leap-frog’d ‘em a dozen times over, the budget would be 10X+ over...

To paraphrase: Govt in control of the desert, there would be lacking for sand.
