During the 2015-16 school year, there were 83,600 public elementary and secondary schools. Of those, 35,900 have a sworn law enforcement officer who routinely carries a gun. That is only 42.9% of the schools. And not even all this 42.9% had an officer available at their school all the time nor did those officers carry all the time when they were there.

When I was in school, 0% had guards.
When I attended school as a yute from 1948-1960 there were exactly no armed guards at any public of which I was aware.
my, what 'progress' we've made !
There are no guards in any school in my city, no metal detectors, no locked doors. Yet.
Just? Just? Oh, for the good old days when we could go to school and not have to worry about libtards and mass shootings. Back in the day, if the sheriff stopped by the school and saw a rifle in the headache rack of a student’s unlocked pickup in the parking lot, he’d smile and ask the kid how it shot.
The Hazleton area school district has armed guards.
yup - this is just union thugs trying to increase their bloated payrolls
Just 42%?
Well, that is going to rather unsettling news to the SJW’s...
They think the cost is too high and there shouldn’t be any guns on campus...
Yeah, well. You went to school with Laura Ingalls...
we lived in a different era..
.of peace.
.of civility.
.of politeness..
.of law abiding citizens..
.of parents who always sided with your teacher if you screwed up..
..of people getting married and expecting to remain married their whole lives, can you imagine, to the SAME PERSON....
its so sad for todays young people...but we tried to warn them...
If your public school has an armed guard, its a signal to parents to get your kids the hell out of there.
When I was a child, 0% of public schools had armed guards.
Beat me to it ! An armed guard at you child’s school screams, “Get your kid the hell out of here.”
When we were kids and there were no armed guards in schools it was before the mass importation of foreigners.
Our betters decided they wanted “New Americans” since they did not like the real ones.
O% when I was in school from 1945 til 1957, but every teacher in 1st thru 6th grade had a paddle. The principal took care of 7th thru 12th with his belt. Incidentally today 100% of Social Security offices have an armed guard. Now go figure.
When signing up for my social security check in 2001 I asked the SSA employee helping me why there was an armed guard walking around in the room. She told me it was for the employees’ protection, and she claimed that I did not understand how irate people could get when told how much their benefit was going to be. I told her she was very wrong since I had retired from an electric utility and had encountered many customers irate about their electric bills. I also told her that we never had the benefit of and armed guard though. The truth is the guards are Democrats and the RATS need all the votes they can buy.
The community college I work at has never had a security guard, armed or unarmed. We had an administrator try and tell a local officer who taught a criminal justice class that he didn’t care if he just came off duty and was going straight to class, he couldn’t carry his sidearm. The officer told him, fine get someone else to teach your class, if I am in uniform I will be armed. That is the only time we had a semblance of security on campus and it was by happenstance. The administration feels it is too much of a liability issue. We are wide open. But we have little Ghostbuster No Weapons allowed signs all over campus, so all is well...
If you have an armed guard, there won’t be school shootings. If there aren’t school shootings, how will they take our guns away?
That’s ALL the left cares about, and if people have to die to achieve the progressives’ nirvana, that is not their problem.
