Detroit is not Michigan. Michigan is quite a beautiful state; gorgeous lakes, rivers, woods, very green. The Great Lakes are every bit as beautiful as the ocean minus the salt. The Upper is very rugged and a world to itself. Yes, it get cold in the winter, but you have to embrace it and enjoy; snowmobiles, skiing, etc. Its also a time to slow down and enjoy a more quieter existence.

God gave Michigan the UP to make up for Detroit.
I’ve driven up and over in every season. Just beautiful country.
Just too dang cold in winter.
