Florida ranks dead last when it comes to rating the best states in the nation. Michigan ranks No. 1, the very best state in the union.
Let that sink in for awhile. Michigan, the state that gave us the Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent and Kid Rock (the poor man’s Ted Nugent), is 49 states better than Florida.
Thrillist’s Definitive and Final Ranking of All 50 States list ranked the states “based on everything.” Specifically, the states’ contributions to America, like inventions, food and drink, “somewhat productive famous people,” and unique physical beauty, among other things.

moving to Florida and can afford to buy a hone there. Not much of a home but I could buy one.
I am a life long NE guy and have had it with the expenses and the lousy weather.

I’ve lived in the treasure coast for 30+ years. I’ll give you the bad schools and old people thing but apparently in your few short months here all you’ve looked for are the negatives. Sad for you.
The Western Panhandle is inexpensive that is if you stay away from the beach.
Low property taxes, no sales tax on groceries, and real estate is still pretty low tho it is increasing.

This is hilarious. If I didn’t already live here I’d stay away. I suggest everybody else do the same! (Especially Rats from the East and West coasts.)
Remember Miami is not part of the USA....as you know I live in Broward county 6-7 months a year. The rest in Colombia S.A.

In the last 20 years or so I have noticed an interesting occurence. Driving along, I will see nice, almost mansions, in fact some probably are, sitting maybe a half mile off the road.
Just recently, an area near me was logged, the trees thinned out but not clear cut. Now I can see one of those houses which was hidden before. This one is closer to the highway, maybe 300 yards.
I asked a friend about them and he said he had heard it was Drs. from Panama City building them to get away from everything. I don’t really know tho.
I live in Michigan you could do worse but No 1? No not by a long shot. We have 2 Rat Senators that should tell you something. Florida has some issues but it’s better than this “study” concludes. I don’t like Florida but it’s better than this.
