PT: Then why did he let many disciples leave, rather than “clarify” the teaching?

Why did He let the rich young ruler walk away?

Why did He let the Pharisees walk away?

PT:You can’t have it both ways. Was Christ teaching Judaism, or teaching what his disciples should be and do?

19“Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, 20but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood. 21“For Moses from ancient generations has in every city those who preach him, since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath.” Acts 15:19-21 NASB

You have no idea what traditions he taught, because they aren’t in the Bible. He said so.

Furthermore, you condemn practices because they aren’t in the Bible, but that’s the point! You keep assuming what we disagree on while the Bible itself doesn’t even validate the claims you make.

“Then why did he let many disciples leave, rather than “clarify” the teaching?”

He knew most were following him for free food and miracles. They did not believe in Him.

At this time he had not entered Jerusalem as Messiah. He was in the process of validating His identity to Jews, as the Promised Messiah.

if a nazi officer comes into your home and asks is you are hiding any Jews (which you are)and you answer "no"....that's a lie.....is that a MORTAL SIN??????

It is a sin...plain and simple. There are no venial or mortal sins. Sin is sin.

Again, you assume what that Bible does not say, and ignore what Christ DOES say.

Why would Christ contradict himself IN CONTEXT if he weren’t talking about two different issues?

You have no idea what traditions he taught, because they aren’t in the Bible. He said so.

From the passage in question we do.

1Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; 2and that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith. 3But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 4We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing and will continue to do what we command. 5May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ. 6Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who leads an unruly life and not according to the tradition which you received from us. 7For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you, 8nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with labor and hardship we kept working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; 9not because we do not have the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you, so that you would follow our example. 10For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. 11For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. 12Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread. 13But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good. 2 Thess 3:1-13 NASB

Furthermore, you condemn practices because they aren’t in the Bible, but that’s the point! You keep assuming what we disagree on while the Bible itself doesn’t even validate the claims you make.

Rome claims the Apostles handed down consistent teaching.

As I've shown with just a couple of examples that is not the case.

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. John 6:35

Do you get thirsty or hungry?

I had to “detox” from FR for awhile due to the glaring ignorance related to just basic Christianity.

PRIDE is the sin that sends more to hell than anything else I’m convinced. Even moreso now with this thread.

Folks can’t even read. I’m sticking to John 14:6, Romans 10:9-10, Acts 16:31 and John 6:29. The Cathoholics can have their self-flagellating fear.

AMPU:He knew most were following him for free food and miracles. They did not believe in Him.

Have Roman Catholics not read the entire passage in context....or only vv52-57?

26Jesus answered them and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

27“Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.”

28Therefore they said to Him, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?”

29Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”

30So they said to Him, “What then do You do for a sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work do You perform? John 6:26-30 NASB

.
The “traditions” that the apostles taught are the activities listed in the Acts of the apostles!

Basically, the appointed feasts that tell the story of his future coming, and the coming together as the sun sets on the Sabbath, and the first day of the week begins with gifts to the ministry that could not be carried on the Sabbath, and the evening Bible study that often lasted well into the night when Paul got started.
(remember the guy that fell out of the window and died, and had to be resurrected?)

That tradition is how the nonsense about “Sunday worship” got started a few centuries later, by the misunderstanding of what the coming together was.

That’s not the “passage in question.”

Furthermore, your “examples” presume the Church can not bind and loose, again according to doctrine you’ve failed to support with a specific Biblical command.

Where’s the verse that says that?

Verses. 59 on tell exactly why they left,

Picking verses that sound similar to what you want the Bible to say does not invalidate DIRECT ANSWERS.

Again, you’re conflating issues, but such things are sprirtually discerned. Or are you claiming Christ’s Word has failed?

What it doesn't mean is that a priest has the power to retain someone's sins. Cause if he does, then you have to explain away this verse about GOD forgiving our sins. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

ah yes, but the priest can determine whether or not the person is sincere.....if the person stole something and the priest told him to return the item and he refused.....was he sincere in asking forgiveness of his sin?????

most of mainstream “Christianity” was invented by unbelieving men, beginning in the early 4th century.

Martin Luther was the first to base his teachings on the word of Yehova, and there have been prescious few like him!

As Jeremiah said, “Our Fathers have inherited lies wherein there is no profit.”

Now is the time when those lies are being exposed, and it is bringing much upheaval.
