Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Thursday rejected the idea of giving young undocumented immigrants a path to citizenship, one day after President Trump said he was open to the idea.
I do not believe we should be granting a path to citizenship to anybody here illegally, Cruz told reporters, according to Bloomberg. Doing so is inconsistent with the promises we made to the man and women who elected us.
For some reason that to me is utterly inexplicable, we see Republicans falling all over themselves to gallop to the left of [former President] Obama in a way that is contrary to the promises made to the voters who elected us, he added.
Trump on Wednesday said he was open to a path to citizenship for DACA recipients in exchange for funding for a border wall and other security measures.

“Irony”
Lol...true. Does the canadian count copulot even have U.S. citizenship?
Didn’t he hand out teddy bears at the border welcoming these ‘dreamers’(illegal aliens) to the U.S.?
Ted’s completely right on this.
Ted just thought of this today. I wonder why? LOL Opportunist and he doesn’t really mean it.
Ummm these illegal aliens, who were illegally dragged across the border into a foreign country as children by their illegal alien parent(s), already have a path to US citizenship! All they need to do is join their fellow foreign country citizens by getting at the back of the line and applying
But Sen. Cruz does have a point that these people do NOT deserve any special treatment.
They got free healthcare, defined territories and ice....
And if he votes to deny citizenship to criminals you'll come up with some other complaint.
Cruz is not trustworthy. I would never vote for him. He is not even eligible to run. He knows it too.
and just like that Cruz is back on the good side but most of us voted against him when he turned out to be a jerk, so
now its Trumps way and this is part where Trumps going to take take the heat. I bet this was in the works all along and he telegraphed it at that televised meeting..
True that. He has no competition. Its sickening, but true. He is so in the canary seat (the category of bought) that I see no reason to vote for him.
You don't live in Texas, so there's a problem that solves itself.
Teds completely right on this.
Actually, Ted is completely wrong on is. If we can get $25 billion for a wall and an historic end to most chain migration it’s totally worth giving amnesty to some people ALREADY HERE. Duh. This isn’t tough one.
Ted just thought of this today. I wonder why? LOL Opportunist and he doesnt really mean it.
Exactly. Typical Senator running his mouth with no skin the game.
Why do you think that he is pontificating on this while being silent on the sedition in the Deep State? Google “Cruz and FBI” and you get NOTHING! How pathetic is that?
I suggest a compromise. How about we count illegal alien wage slaves as 3/5ths of a person for apportionment? < /sarcasm >
The Dems will try and sabotage any deal anyway. They do no want a deal and they do not care about illegal aliens. They want an issue to attack Repubs on to gain minority votes. If Trump and the Repubs pass immigration reform they will lose votes and they know it.
That’s why Durbin blabbed about what Trump said in the private meeting. So it would blow up the talks.
Yep, Cruz is still a small and smarmy as ever. Amazing how some around here still fall all over that phony schmuck.
Yeah, maybe Texans will dispatch this douche.
Yes they are
Yeah, who knows. Maybe Texas Republicans will shit the bed in the primary like those geniuses in Alabama last year and you'll get your wish.
“You don’t live in Texas, so there’s a problem that solves itself. “
No self-respecting Texan would ever vote for that lowlife POS canadian fraud
We need to put pressure on the White House. If enough of us do it, it can make a difference. It has made a difference previously.
