I’ve thought similarly since it was disclosed. Could be they passed that text just to have fun or maybe to tweak anybody listening in or later on if the messages were later exposed.
On the other hand, these are some REALLY stupid people to have used SMS for their nefarious discussions and overthrow plans. The agency with the best and brightest sure has some stupid ones.
We will have to see how it plays out, but I think the Deep State is somehow hoping that Trump has no cards left in his hand. That sort of strategy seems beyond stupid.
If the President has (and only has) a single text between 2 FBI agents glibly talking about their secret society, then (perhaps) the Deep State can flick it all away by saying, “They were obviously joking!”
But if the President to have additional texts, emails, phone calls, etc. of continued off-the-record collaboration between people within the FBI who were known to be actively working against Trump ... well ... “They were obviously joking!” becomes about the weakest defense I can imagine.
I swear the Deep State is playing this game like children: “If I pretend I’m innocent, they can never punish me!”
After the election there was talk of establishing a “shadow government” by the democrats. Should this be a surprise? They apparently did it.

The texts messaged between Strzok & Page from Dec 2016 - May 2017 are missing for a reason. They are being recovered, so the story goes. Why did the FBI do the “dog ate my homework” song & dance rather than state up front that there was a gap & those texts are being recovered & will be forwarded on? Their tactic of “Gee, they’re gone and .... well .... I guess that’s the end of the story & you Congress critters will just have to live with our fairy tale” has further damaged their credibility which is already in “tatters” (yes, Trump used the right word in his tweet!).
I suspect that there are some very damning texts in that batch - Secret Society perhaps, some talk of taking Trump out in nonpolitical ways .... no telling what is there, but it was bad enough for the FBI to try to hide it. Wray should know better - not impressed with him at all. He’s either dumb or playing dumb, neither of which is acceptable for the head of the FBI.
The Committee has released a PDF of some of the text messages and they sent a letter to the OIG on Tuesday.
The whole letter is worth reading but I found this part particularly interesting. “6. In the most recent batch of texts, Mr. Strzok and Ms. Page frequently indicate that they are also communicating about work-related matters via apparently personal accounts on Apple’s encrypted iMessage texting system, as well as through Gmail. Does the OIG have the necessary authorities, resources, and capabilities to obtain any federal records that may reside in those personal accounts? If not, please explain any gaps in your ability to do so.”
How DARE conservatives NOT trust the corrupt effing LIBERAL 'elites' who run DC? Just ask Lois Lerner and her fellow thugs and members of the press who mocked conservatives for noticing the corruption - - we were belittled us over that one too.
Didn't David Ignatius stand WITH the corrupt IRS and Lois Lerner and mock conservatives almost to the end? Just like he's doing now?
The memo will be released next week. I hope before the State of Union address next Tuesday night. Or Trump could announce it will be released the next day.
If such a society existed....it’d be mostly a drinking opportunity for a couple of older guys to tell 1970s political stories to some young punks just starting out in DC.

There is simply no basis to the rumor that officials in the FBI and DOJ formed a secret society known as the “Fraternal Order of the Notrumpinati” which met in the broom closet behind the cafeteria wearing pink pussy hats. No basis at all I say!
No doubt Robert Mueller is hoping that those missing 50,000 Strzok/Page messages the FBI deleted stay deleted.
It’s a safe bet the missing messages confirm the involvement of Mueller, Comey, McCabe and others at the top levels of the FBI in the anti-Tramp 'Secret Society' cabal.
IMHO they are in it up to their beady eyeballs.

The Deep State gets away with this because the corrupt press buys their story of being 'innocent'... knowing if the press says 'innocent' often enough, it becomes believable to the ignorant.
Yes, the press knows they're lying for the deep state but they get 'leaks' in return.
In a profession where the 'coin of the realm' is 'sell able information' bribes come in the form on insider information. The press has sold themselves out.

It is truly scary how probable this all is...
Sessions is compromised somehow - that’s my gut feeling. He was with Trump from the beginning & I think that was genuine, but he had a ‘come to you-know-who’ meeting with someone after he became AG & the effect is obvious. I think the same thing happened with Judge Roberts & I’m sure there are countless others who have kept quiet when they would/should have said something about the corruption & lawlessness going on.
Hilly started the blackmail on a large scale with the FBI files - not sure how much of that is still in play, but with supposedly 85% of Obama’s FISA searches being illegal, plenty of the ‘newer’ folks are no doubt caught in the corrupt web of Obama & his cabal.
