Why do men rape, when they can buy sex with a hooker free of (legal) risk? Some feminists have made the assertion that rape is about power rather than sex. I think they’re only half right. I think there are people who are sexually aroused by having power over another, who get excited by the other person being in a state of fear.
For such, there can be no real substitute for the real thing. For such a man, who gets turned on by fear, it is a logical transition to raping children, who can be more easily put into a state of terror.
