Come near my guns and I'll compost you and feed you to my plants. #Colorado
;-)
It's legality would put a mega-dent in the billion dollar industry of painkillers and mood elevators, not to mention the laxative industry that resulted from constipation from opiates.
Nobody ODs on pot and nobody goes violent.
It is the lack of legal pot in surrounding areas that causes the crime. End that and you end the crime.
We don't even have to mention the profitability from selling illegal weed or the money benefits from fighting it.
Preach it...
.
You know absolutely nothing about weed!
The fact that you seek “studies” and “polls” provides clear evidence that you have no valid information gathering skills, nor experience.
Studies and polls are pure propaganda. Obviously that is what you, as a “progressive” have to rely upon for all of your life decisions.

>> “and has great medicinal side effects on glaucoma” <<
First factual thing you have offered!
>> “Nobody ODs on pot and nobody goes violent.” <<
Probably true, but not relevent to the problem:
Nobody can make quick cogent decisions in critical situations while under the influence of Pot.
And even worse, is the illusion that pervades the consiousness of the toker that everything they do is “excellent.” Its a very dangerous state of mind.

I get the point that we should in all ways be sober and in constant communing with God in the Spirit. I really do get that.
But those are individual decisions just as salvation is an individual decision.
You use the same judgment and logic that would put people in jail because they don't like someone's behavior. Or, the logical end in that is that they don't like their politics.
In the UK a "dangerous state of mind" is a post on the internet criticizing Islamic terrorism. There were over 3 thousand arrests for that last year alone.
Besides, I have seen drunks hold a lit match under their palm for laughs, but never heard of a pot smoker think dangerous activity was "excellent" in anyway.
Ugh, are you a beneficiary of the current confiscation practices? I read in the news sometime back that a family in Philly lost their house because their son - unbeknownst to them - was peddling a few ounces of pot to his friends.
.
You have a very wild immagination!
