Soon it will be up to the new legal citizens if the former legals will be allowed to smoke pot.

So when you smoke pot how has it affected your forearms proficiency?

"Vermont is a constitutional carry state, and pot and guns cannot mix. Something has to give."

Yes it has been discussed by Jeff Kuhner. You will be forced to give up your 2nd Amendment rights if you are a stoner. It might be back door gun control. Sad day IMHO, this whole thing is a Faustian bargain....

Good for Vermont!

It’s obvious to anyone around young people that pot is far less dangerous than alcohol. And they voted based on the truth!

I don’t recommend anyone do mind altering substances recreationally but pot is by far the safest drug out there. If anything, we should have a doctors review and give people a license for both alcohol and pot. Right now they sell booze to any junkie with a cup of change

“Vermont is a constitutional carry state, and pot and guns cannot mix. Something has to give.”

Why do they not also ban guns for people that drink? Drunks with guns are equally a problem.

I hate to break it to you, but the poor have access to weed and liquor already.
At issue is the efficacy and morality of dragging millions through the criminal justice system because you disapprove of their appetites.

It has obviously affected your comprehension!

So it is reasonable to assume that it has also affected your judgment!

Turn in your guns please!

Expect routine random “pot checks,” to determine whether your guns will be taken while you sit at the checkpoint.

(Swat team is at your door in 3 minutes; will your wife know how to deal with them?)

Not necessarily so!

A few hits on the joint and your judgment is history for the day, but it takes a couple of beers to even begin to impair your judgment, and likely twice that to approach the same level that just two long tokes on the joint bring.

Better to arrest every pot head. We don’t have enough people in prison already.

Well said.

The Prohibitionist Mind is a (Tyrannical) thing to behold.

Authoritarians don't even comprehend the nature of actual Freedom. They actually think they get to define other peoples' notion of "the pursuit of happiness"—in the total absence of any infringement on anyone's Rights.

And such Nanny-Staters still claim to believe in minimal government! All the while, these "limited government conservatives" embrace the ever expanding Police State necessary to enforce Contraband Law—as well as the routine trampling of peoples' rights under the Fourth Amendment!

So, yes, by all means, let's put more people in prison for owning the wrong plant, medicine, chemical, or liquid spirits. Because "Law and Order", dontcha know.

Or instead, let's have actual Liberty—with all of its warts, challenges, and inconveniences.

The only thing worse than decriminalization—is criminalization. Rehabilitation, not incarceration.

You ducked the question and then went into some authoritarian fantasyland.

So I’ll ask again, when you smoke pot how has it affected your firearms proficiency?

Vermont has an opioid crisis already. Guess the state isn’t going to heck fast enough.

“Actual Freedom” requires a level of actual understanding and responsibility. There are definitely some that will never be able to long endure with freedom. They need something they do not posess.

FWIW, if I were a resident of or a visitor to VT, I’d be more worried about impaired drivers than gun owners.

It’s obvious what told were doing this morning then, ain’t it? ;)

How’d you come to be such an authority on the subject? How many times have you put yourself in this stupor?

Here in CA the signage says:
“Drive high, get a DUI”

Works for me.

It should be legal, at least as a State’s Rights issue, but driving is a privilege, not a right.
>

Concur on all but the last partial sentence. One peeve of mine: What makes ‘driving’ a privilege? Do We not have the Right to travel? Why is the means the arbiter of such?

We’ve had roads from the dawn of time. Walking to wheels (self vs. animal driven vs. motor driven). And, if anyone thinks a ‘license’ is *any* sort of ‘proof’ of proficiency, I’ll point out any NUMBER of elderly/like on the roads more of a danger than the 16yr old.

Don’t even start me on the ‘permission’ slip (aka Passports) to visit OTHER countries...

Sorry, but far too many, IMO, are too generous w/ the “but XYZ isn’t a Right...” when all We have, thanks to our Creator, ARE Rights; in GREAT abundance.

We’re definitely not talking about “firearm proficiency.”

Its not even close to relevent in this framework.

Firearm proficiency is unrelated to the level of judgment required to keep one’s hand away from the holster.

You’re not well equipped to generate the kind of effective propaganda you’re trying to post here.
