If Trump does this he will blow up the base.

Trump sets out terms the Dems won't take for political reasons. He is showing that he is the one willing to deal, and the other side are the rigid ideologues.

Build the wall, no chain migration, no lottery. He might go for two of the three with one being the Wall, and the Dems will NOT accept those terms. Lok at the whole picture, not just the headlines.

I wish the president would add an end to birthright citizenship as one of his stipulations. Birthright citizenship needs to go.
