While they were whining abiut the shutdown on local news radio (WTOP) they mentioned that the capital area gets $2.5 billion a week from the Feds. And thus the shutdown woud be an economic hardship. They are also, for the most part, whackjob liberals when they report the “news”.

I don’t think that could possibly be right. $2.5 BILLION a week every week of the year is an enormous sum of money. What in the world could cost that much money to fund the infrastructure, services, payrolls, etc. of that area? Are they paving the streets with gold?
