Can you post a link to support your opinion that the DOJ has found
the missing 5 months of text?
Sara Carter was on Hannity’s radio show today and said the DOJ
IG does not have the missing 5 months.
Don’t you think Sessions called the IG and asked if his team had
the missing 5 months, before making the statements in this article?
My understanding is the OIG discovered that the text messages were missing and informed the DOJ as such.
No no you miss understand! The IG found out that there was a 5 month gap from DOJ...that after reviewing whatever he was looking into...he noticed something was missing, that being the five month gap of texts between Lisa Page and Peter Strzok. Sara Carter just said that reports are that the IG did get them somehow maybe in a raw form way before someone in the FBI apparently wiped them clean. Basically he found obstruction of justice and notified Sessions

I think what he means is that the DOJ discovered that five months of text were missing, not that the texts were found.
Trying to figure out if this is just a semantics issue. Has the IG simply found the gap in the messages or the actual 5 months of messages themselves?
the OIG sought from the FBI all text messages between Strzok and Page from their FBI-issued phones through November 30, 2016, which covered the entire period of the Clinton e-mail server investigation. The FBI produced these text messages on July 20, 2017.
Following our review of those text messages, the OIG expanded our request to the FBI to include all text messages between Strzok and Page from November 30, 2016, through the date of the document request, which was July 28, 2017.
The OIG received these additional messages on August 10, 2017.

I think the “finding” of the IG was the 5 month gap, not the texts themselves.
