DACA is going to happen. However, it needs to exclude anyone who has committed a felony, has been on welfare more than 3 years and end chain migration. I wish we could also get rid of the automatic citizenship for those born here of illegal aliens.
DACA probably should happen for genuine cases (with real filters); Trump is right that it means nothing if we hear the same sob stories from a fresh batch of “dreamers” ten years from now. Without the wall, it makes no sense to act on “dreamers” or an amnesty (which would be horrible).
It might happen but it definitely should not. Children of bank robbers who get caught don’t get to enjoy the benefit of the money their parents stole. These DACA types are currently benefiting from the resources, i.e. schooling, medical etc. that their parents stole from the American people and they are demanding more benefits. It doesn’t matter if it’s “no fault of their own”, the children of criminals may not know they’re parents re criminals but once caught they should not be allowed to keep the benefits of those ill gotten gains.
