Nice thought, but that’s all it is, a thought. People know that the majority of congressional representatives are millionaires! It would be better to donate your salaries to a military nonprofit to help them with emergency funds to pay monthly expenses during Schumer’s shutdown!
The military gets paid on the 1st and the 15th.

Why do politicians and judges get paid during a government shutdown?
That's great, but any change in their pay (guess who gets to vote on THAT? LOL!) wouldn't take effect until after the next election of course. See the The Twenty-Seventh Amendment to the Constitution.
Why stop there. Make Congress live under the laws they impose on us including an end to congressional pension beyond Social Security. Seeing the sponsorship, this is no more than a ploy to take the heat off of them in Battleground states. Internal Democrat polling shows that Democrats loose the shutdown in all the battleground states despite the overwhelming support they get in blue states.
Only in that it benefits them. Otherwise, they couldn’t care less.
