I am a woman and know how to darn socks.
Since most socks that require mending are men’s socks,how many men could darn them?

I know how to darn socks.When I'm doing my laundry I'm always saying "where's that other darn sock?"
In my impecunious younger days, I would darn socks, and mend a lot of my other clothes too. These days, though, I can earn enough money to buy new socks in less time than darning would take, so it’s a long time since I’ve done it. Still mend torn pants, jackets, and such, as I can sew better than my wife.
I would suspect that a great many current and former military men know how to darn socks.

Well, I can. Learned in the Army. It was quicker than trying to get replacements through supply.
I buy the lifetime guarantee socks from Bass Pro Shops and as soon as a hole appears I exchange them for new socks.

I could probably do it, but why would I spend an hour darning a sock, when I could work an extra hour, and buy a whole bag of new ones?
