Fentanyl? Did he have cancer?
To: Wolfie
That guy could have opened a drug store. No they weren't for a medical condition. They were his happy pills. No competent physician would prescribe that toxic cocktail.

...the singer was on several pain meds, including Fentanyl patches, oxycodone (Oxycontin), temazepam (Restoril), alprazolam (Xanax), citalopram (Celexa), acetyl fentanyl and despropionyl fentanyl. The Whitman's Sampler of opioids.

He insisted on touring for 53 concert dates with the condition, which worsened over time and caused him to take the meds. I saw him play a month before he died, great show. He had to postpone it a week due to laryngitis from a cold. I heard he had arthritis, but no idea it was that bad. A trooper to the end, but so sad.

Xanax is the key. You put Xanax into that heavy op mix, that's the one that tells the brain: "Hey even though you're not breathing, it's cool."
You take Xanax away it's still too heavy for a wirey guy who should have had a 'body man' or personal valet. Narcan probably would have brought him back if he had a body man who knew wtf he was doing.

There is a very skilled Nursing specialist called a “Pain Management Nurse”. They are so needed, yet so rare, that they can name their place and their price.
They have a huge toolkit available to them, to relieve insane levels of multiple kinds of pain at once, without causing addiction or overdose. You can see why they get the big bucks. Accreditation takes years.
Pain management nurses earn an average salary of over $100k annually. On average, other nurses receive pay of about $67.5k
Somebody in Tom Petty’s condition should have kept such a nurse on his staff. Otherwise, he would just be playing Russian Roulette.

Drs in LA/Hollywood are the worst. They seem to be like our politicians. For the right price all honor and ethics go out of the window.

I’ve yet to walk in another man’s shoes. Sounds like he led a demanding, tough life. Walking away from a destructive lifestyle is hard for some people.
