I have been listening to his station on Xm/Sirius for several years. His Buried Tresures show is a family favorite.

American Girl is one of my all time faves. Tom was a musical genius.

We’re building a wall between us and China?

That’s where fentanyl is primarily manufactured. Though I am vehemently opposed to the War On Drugs due to its shredding of our Constitution, distributing fentanyl is terrorism, and the penalty should be the same. It is a weapon of mass destruction whose death toll exceeded 20,000 in 2016–and Sessions is worried about pot?

These dealers should be hunted and put down like rabid dogs. No quarter, no mercy; kill them painfully and unshriven.

Well charitably, I’d like to think that the excruciating hip pain, and I DO imagine that that would be some of the worst pain ever, drove him to seek this stuff, not randomly, but certainly because of his junkie past. Not that I’m any better, just still breathin’.

“That’s where fentanyl is primarily manufactured.”

I have read that fentanyl in powdered form comes up from Mexico. The articles I’ve seen didn’t discuss where it was made.

In this country, I am told, legitimate fentanyl is primarily in tablet, patch, or liquid form, in part for safety’s sake.

The powder seems to be the main hazard. That one LEO just touched some of it and almost died.

I kinda like the feeling of opiods, I’ll take a vicodin for a headache now and then, if it’s available. But it kind of gives me vertigo. Never had the motive or opportunity to get in trouble with the opiods. I used to like Darvon a lot, after my back surgery.

That is what I’ve read about. So terribly sad....our LEO’s doing their job, and this happens.

Too bad. I’ll have to see it for that scene. Petty was very good but I prefer the Byrds.

The Dems do not want a wall, so they are complicit in allowing more and more drugs into our country. They are the true “deplorables.”

“The Dems do not want a wall, so they are complicit in allowing more and more drugs into our country.”

Good point.

“They are the true “deplorables.”

Very charitable. I’m not usually so kind.

I wish they’d just let the idiots lay there and die.

Why should good men and good dogs risk their lives for junkies?

They gave me Vicodin for chronic back/neck pain, once.

I barfed it up 15 minutes later.

No idea why but I literally cannot stomach opioids.

I loved Tom Petty. One of the greatest artists of our time. I knew he died of Opioids after a I read that Dolores O’Riorden also did. So did Prince.
All of that is still being covered up.

I reeeally think there will turn out to have been dr shopping.

There has been talk of requiring doctors and pharmacists to consult a statewide database on opioid prescriptions so as to prevent doctor shopping. Pennsylvania is one of several states that have instituted one but I’m not sure if participation is mandatory. Some would like it to be a nationwide database.

http://www.post-gazette.com/news/health/2017/08/31/Pennsylvania-Prescription-Drug-Monitoring-Program-doctor-shopping-opioid-abuse/stories/201708310102

https://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/faq/rx_monitor.htm

Of course and understandably there are those who are against it citing privacy concerns and fears of abuse of such data gathering especially on those who are not abusing the drugs and have legitimate needs for them.

Best pithy comment I’ve seen on that:

Suicides will go up. Just look at the drug cocktail that killed Tom Petty all prescribed by a STUPID INCOMPETENT Doctor(S). I’m not a Dr. even I know you don’t mix all these drugs.
