To: Bon of Babble

I remember SF from back in the day. It was politically mixed and the cops would never had put up with this. Of course it wasn’t a freebie Mecca for the homeless folks, either. I remember my grandfather getting all dressed up to ‘go downtown’. He had to go to City Hall for business, and he was representing our tribe, so to speak.

My mother speaks wistfully of those days - one never went out in San Francisco unless one were wearing gloves, high heels and a skirt - if one were female, that is.

That was before decorum and manners became something to be mocked and impugned.

Now it’s the males in SF that never go out without a large wig, boa and high heels!!
