It felt like a homecoming. The setting was perfect for it -- a pitch dark gymnasium illuminated by strobe lights that danced to the blaring club music while people stood around waiting for the action to get started. And it was a homecoming, at least in a sense, for the people who helped Phil Murphy get elected and transition him into leading New Jersey. He thanked them all -- especially the millennials -- from the stage Sunday night.

Wow, that would be hip. 20 years ago.
Amusing. Blacks and Hispanics are over 30% of New Jersey voters. They unite to elect a wealthy, Wall Street white guy who promises even more of the same policies they have endured. Murphy enthusiastically supports abortion and the location of abortion clinics in minority areas. Denies them school vouchers and is happy with the union controlled public schools that don’t educate in any manner. The same schools his kids never set foot in. Wishes more taxes and regulations to drive away business. Intends to legalize marijuana in the midst of a heroin epidemic. Oh yea, they can expect their lives to really improve under their great white leader.
Nah, not even.
NJ is f’ked.
Cuz he goin’ make da chronic dope yo!* (Ebonics for “Because he’s going to legalize marijuana’’.)
The teachers unions spent a lot of taxpayer money to get Murphy in; the broad band of American taxpayers that elected Christie twice has shrunk considerably, so there were a lot less “makers” to oppose this guy.
The people that elected Murphy elected Corzine years ago, and ended up very disappointed; he couldn’t produce money out of thin air, and they ended up getting less than they expected (while the state continued to deteriorate physically and financially). The Dem legislature has already warned Murphy that there is no money for all his projects.
Yes, too bad. NJ is much more than "which exit?" Hunterdon, Somerset, Warren, Morris and Sussex counties are beautiful, with rolling hills, farms, lakes, wonderful scenery and foliage, and the NJ shore towns are among the best in the country. Unfortunately, the main interest of the political class ('RATS) is vote-buying; as a result, NJ's excessively high taxes go to the urban ratholes that dutifully return these thieves to office. So, yes, absent some sort of revolution, NJ is f'ked.
