Flu has me down...4th day in bed....I went to a regular doc appointment on Monday...he checked lungs as standard protocol....no problems....gave blood later that afternoon. By Wed PM I knew something was going on...it’s NOT fun...but I tried some deep breathing today (best I could) and it seems to reduce the burning chest pain when I cough. Sore throat is PAINFUL. Lots of liquids...lots of Vit C and Vit D/K...hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Hope you and wife start recovering...I’m 66 too. NO, did not get a flu shot. My MIL got diagnosed with Type A flu on Wed...yeah...she had had a flu shot.
I’m 60. Never had the shot. Never get sick, hardly ever anyway.
We both got flu shots. We’ve been in bed for a week. I’m afraid it’s going to turn into pneumonia though my lungs were clear last Tuesday. Thanks for the reply and good luck.

68 here...no flu shot. stayed 18 a$$ draggin days in doors before I felt comfortable enough to go out and about without worrying about infecting someone or irritating them with constant hacking. It started 12/15/2017.
I’m still hackin up exorcist stuff.
My wife had a flu shot...her misery was about 8 days...
